Well, I'm using Cisco VPN client 4.8.02.0010 on a brand new Sony VAIO laptop with the integrated (built in) Sprint Mobile Broadband card. The VPN client is using UDP for communications. IKE for key exchange, 3DES and SHA1 for encryption and encapsulation. Apparently according to several threads I've come across Sprint considers vpn traffic as hotspot data. So once you run out of hotspot bandwidth you lose the ability to connect and use VPN. This was not part of the plan when I originally signed up with sprint; but from sprints perspective it seems this is working as intended.
